Some of y’all may remember that we did a class at Orangetheory Fitness in the spring.

Well, Orangetheory is now opening a studio in CHAPEL HILL and they are offering a free trial class to you and a friend!

The studio will open Oct. 30 and will be hosting pre-opening classes for people to come and experience the workout before the doors officially open starting this Friday. Below are the weekend dates and times that are available for classes.

  • Friday, Oct. 24: 6:45 a.m., 9:15 a.m., 4:15 p.m., 6:45 p.m.
  • Saturday, Oct. 25: 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m.
  • Sunday, Oct. 26: 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m.

One of the Nation’s Fastest Growing Workout Concepts Expands to Chapel Hill

Featured in The New York Times, SELF Magazine and Men’s Journal, Orangetheory Fitness uses heart-rate-monitored high-intensity interval training to maximize calorie burn up to 1,000 calories from one 60-minute class

Orangetheory Fitness is an energizing group interval fitness concept that’s sweeping the nation. The unique fitness program is expanding in North Carolina with a new studio in Chapel Hill opening fall 2014. During each hour-long class, Orangetheory Fitness participants wear heart-rate-monitors as they go through interval training and short bursts of exercise designed to maximize the Orange Effect, which adds extra caloric burn for up to 36 hours after the workout. Participants burn 500 to 1,000 calories per 60-minute class – one of the many reasons Orangetheory Fitness is featured in several national publications as a highly effective new workout.

Additionally, everyone is invited to participate in a Facebook giveaway for the chance to win a one month Premier Membership valid for unlimited classes at the Chapel Hill studio. Fans can participate now by entering the sweepstakes on the Orangetheory Fitness Chapel Hill Facebook page. One participant will be selected at random from all entries submitted by Aug. 15.

Orangetheory Fitness memberships do not require a long-term commitment and can currently be purchased at limited discounted founders’ rates for new members at the Chapel Hill studio.

Just wanted to share a little recap of our rather unconventional meetup at Orangetheory Fitness Morrisville today!

This was the first time we’d every done a meetup like this and it was so much fun. The photo above is just some of the members of triFABB who came to the meetup and workout!

If you haven’t heard of Orangetheory Fitness, it’s basically (in summary) a REALLY intense workout that mixes up cardio and strength training but really focuses on customizing the workout to YOUR particular skill level based on your heart rate. You wear a heart rate monitor throughout the workout and you’re able to see on a screen in the room what “zone” you’re in… whether you’re in the cardio zone, the fat burning zone, or the peak zone, etc.

We all agreed it was one of THE most fun, MOST intense, and most challenging workouts we’d ever done.

Lindsay of Poppy Daily even said, “I work out with a trainer 2-3x a week and have for a while and this was, by far, the best workout I’ve ever done.” 

We could not agree more!! It was CRAZY hard and we were all totally SPENT by the time it was over, but we felt awesome.

Our trainer, Danny, had so much energy and really kept us going and motivated through the whole thing.

On a separate side note, members of #triFABB even brought canned foods to the event to help collect canned food for the Foodbank of the Triangle!

It was really an awesome afternoon!
